Richmond, VA – World Pediatrics is proud to announce the appointment of Alyssa McBride as the new Executive Director of Development in Richmond, VA. Alyssa joins the World Pediatrics family with over 25 years of experience in nonprofit leadership and development, bringing a deep commitment to transforming access to advanced pediatric healthcare.
Most recently, Alyssa served as the Director of Development and Alumni Relations at Trinity Episcopal School, where she led a new development team to double fundraising revenue in her first year. Her ability to foster a culture of philanthropy and significantly increase giving participation has been pivotal in her previous roles, including her leadership at All Saints Catholic School, where she played a critical role in doubling enrollment and securing the school’s single largest gift through a historic capital campaign. In addition to her experience in Richmond, Alyssa brings valuable international experience, having previously led a medical missions organization based in Salt Lake City, Utah, which served children and adults in 15 countries. She has also served as an election observer in Bosnia and Albania and spent a year living with her husband in Shanghai, China.
In her new role at World Pediatrics, Alyssa will oversee and lead fundraising efforts in the Richmond market, focusing on events, building strategic partnerships and expanding the organization’s reach. Her extensive experience in Richmond’s nonprofit sector, including her work with the Alzheimer’s Association Greater Richmond Chapter, positions her uniquely to further elevate World Pediatrics’ presence in the region.

Alyssa holds a master’s degree in public administration/Nonprofit Management from the University of Arkansas and has completed executive education programs at Harvard Kennedy School. She is a recognized leader in the Richmond community, having been named one of Style Weekly Magazine’s “Top 40 Under 40” and receiving the Stettinius Award for Nonprofit Leadership from The Community Foundation.
